Next up on the Chili Diner Crawl is Pleasant Ridge. Unless you like dated diners, don’t be impressed by the decor in these places. they are very simple, usually littered with booths on the walls and a cool counter up front. This place serves a very good chili, albeit, a bit watery.

The Viceroy in Anguilla is a beautifully sculpted resort sitting on the cliff of Barnes Bay in Anguilla which is just east of Puerto Rico. While much of the carribean is filled with locals that give a not so great vibe to visiting tourists, Anguilla is a lot different. If you are planning a caribbean vacation, Anguilla would be an excellent choice – the Viceroy a luxury with very pretty food.

Last week, Eataly a new italian market of epic proportions opened up in the Flatiron District of Manhattan. It was created for NYC by the well-known famous restauranteurs Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich, Lidia Matticchio Bastianich founded by Oscar Farinetti. It is 50,000 square feet of fresh pasta, bread, produce, cheese, and wine for sale as well as providing several small restaurants inside of the facility. It is a very cool and very crowded place having only been opened a little over a week.

During my family’s visit to NYC we spent a lot of time up in Westchester with my cousin and her family who were also visiting in NYC. We ate at their restaurant, North, one night and had lunch at The Cookery in Dobb’s Ferry. It was quite an amazing italian restaurant.
