Let’s be honest – Chili, as a concept, isn’t really appetizing. It tastes good. It’s hearty and filling, but it looks godawful. I don’t know if its the beans, or the dark brown color. Most brown things don’t look nice, except cookies. Cookies look great.

But chili? And to make matters worse, there is a lot of orangey cheese on top. Orange isn’t really a natural color for a cheese, even though we all know that this is what cheese in America looks like. Ok so not everyone puts cheese in their chili, BUT then there is the whole Cincinnati Chili thing. Bottom line, they put it on top of spaghetti. You can have it several ways, but basically it boils down to how many ingredients do you want to mix in with the chili. I don’t really know why. It works, it really does. The flavor is not bad at all. The orange cheese tastes good – sometimes it’s even real cheddar.

It’s an institution down here. They love it and its a thing that cincinnati does well, even over in Kentucky where a small chain of three restaurants called Dixie Chili is considered one of the top chili places in the Cincy/No. Kentucky area.

You might not agree with me on the whole appetizing thing. If you do think the photos look nice, then Thank You. If not, it’s not my fault. Chili is just ugly.
